Sultan Kudarat is a 1st class municipality in the province of Maguindanao, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of about 94,861 people in 16,996 households.

The town was part of the province of Shariff Kabunsuan from October 2006 until its nullification by the Supreme Court in July 2008.

According to the people, the great grandson of Sultan Kudarat, Hon. Datu Tucao Mastura, the current administrator of the municipality and its mayor until the 2007 elections, where he ran as the governor of Shariff Kabunsuan is the greatest leader they have. And it may not be denied according to them, for his family is pure royal blood.
